COURSES FAQ´S

When can I start my course?
If you have some Spanish knowledge, you can start any Monday. Only absolute beginners should attend lessons at the dates specified.

How many weeks should I take to complete a level?
Each level takes about 4 weeks, excepting our most advanced, which each take 8 weeks. Before moving up to a higher level, our students are required to take an exam in order to evaluate their progress.

How many hours a week are your classes?
We offer programs of 20, 25 or 30 lessons per week. Each lesson is 45 minutes long.

What are your course timetables?

Is it possible to choose morning or afternoon lessons?
We can not guarantee the timetable until your first day of class, because this depends on the number of students and classes running, but you can specify your preference on your application form and we will try our best to comply.

Do you have evening classes?
We do not offer evening classes in group. They are only available at one-to-one classes.

Which DELE exam sessions do you prepare for?
We prepare for the DELE exams that are held in May, August and November.

Are study materials included in the course price?
Yes, they are. There are several books that you can borrow. However, if you prefer to buy the book it is available for our students at an average price of 15 euros.

What size are your classes?
Maximum 8 students per class, but the average is 4-5 students.

Does your school require a placement test?
Yes, students with some knowledge of Spanish will be tested on their first day, to determine their exact Spanish level.

How can I find out what my present level is?
We can send you our placement test and you send it back to us for the correction but on your first day of class you will take an oral test to establish your exact level.

What happens if I am the only student of a determined level?
Groups are from 3-8 students. In the event that a group of a particular level is less than 3 students, the centre will offer the course but with a reduced number of lessons. For example: 3 - 8 students 4 lessons, 2 students 3 lessons and 1 student 2 lessons.

Will I get a certificate, at the end of the course?
All our students receive a Certificate of attendance and level achieved on completion of the course that specify the level and the contents that you have studied.

Can I get the CSN grant of the Swedish government?
Yes, our long term courses are recognised by the CSN.

Can I change my course or classes once I have started?
Yes, of course. If you do feel that the class you are taking is not at your level, or that your learning progress differs from your class mates', you can speak to the Director of Studies to have your class changed to the appropriate level, or find another solution. Please be advised that there is no refund in case you change to a less expensive course. TLC Dénia is here to accommodate your needs and to ensure that you are having the best possible experience.

Do you make up classes that are missed due to holidays?
Only one to one classes are made up, please check the public holidays in the dates and prices section before confirming your enrolment.

ACCOMODATION FAQ´S

When do I have to make my reservation?
We ask that you book your accommodation at least 1 month in advance. Denia is a popular tourist destination and if you wish to book accommodation during high season we recommend you to make it as soon as possible. If it is a last minute decision, please check accommodation availability with us.

When will I receive the confirmation and date for my accommodation?
We will send you your accommodation address approximately 10 days before your course begins.

When can I check in/out?
Accommodation is available between 12:00 noon on the Sunday prior to the first day of the course (Monday) until 10:00 noon on the Saturday following the last day of class (Friday). Those students that for different reasons need to stay till later, contact the accommodation coordinator at school. Extra days are also available at an extra cost per day.
Own apartments at the beach departure day is Saturday before 10:00 and arrival is Saturday after 17:00 p.m.

Can I book any extra nights?
Yes, you can check in on Saturday and check out on Sunday if you wish. There is an extra fee for this extra night. Please visit our prices section for more details.

Is accommodation located close to the school?
All of our homestay, hostal, hotel and shared flats accommodations are located between 5 to 15 minutes walking distance from the school. Accommodation at the beach are about 25 minutes walking distance but there is a bus available.

Are towels, sheets and blankets included?
Sheets and blankets are included. Please bring your own towels and other necessities you may need to make your stay more comfortable.

Is a cleaning service included in the price?
This depends on the type of accommodation you have:
a) Hostal and Hotel include the cleaning
b) Spanish family: the cleaning service is included, as well as one laundry per week.
c) Own apartment: cleaning service can be included for a surcharge of 35 €.
d) Shared flat: you participate in the cleaning tasks.

Who do I speak with regarding my arrival time to my accommodation?
Accommodation details will be sent to you along with the confirmation not later than 10 days before the course starts. The school also offers you a 24 hours telephone for urgencies Telf. + 34 687 45 05 77.

Is electricity and water included in my accommodation or do I need to pay separately?
Shared flat, Host Family the electricity and water is included in your payment. You are expected to use lights und water responsibly.
Own apartment: expenses up to 30 € per month are included.

What is the school responsibility if problems occur in student housing?
In case of problems, doubts or questions, please talk to the accommodation coordinator and she will offer you a solution. TLC Denia will do everything possible to ensure that your stay is comfortable.
